I came across this very cool 70’s chic belt buckle: two big golden ladybugs that clasp together. It’s marked “Mimi di N 1972” on the back. This led me down an interesting Google rabbit hole. Mimi is Princess Mimi di Niscemi, an Italian countess who married Prince Alexander, the grandson of the last Russian Emperor, Nicholas II.
The obvious next step for an aristocrat with no land to rule? Design some wild belt buckles. How about some with fox heads, rabbits or leopards? Done!
These look great when paired with a modern dress. Thanks, Princess Mimi!
