Cool Girls in Seventies Dresses

From a fashion magazine perspective, the seventies were a wild ride. There were prairie dresses one day and spandex disco jumpsuits the next.

What women wore everyday, however, was much more streamlined and practical. The decade brought some very  stylish and easy to wear dresses for the newly emerging generation of working women. The prints were inventive and sometimes wild and there were interesting details and flourishes (ascot bows! wide cuffs!). There were deco-style geometrics, ethnic inspired silhouettes and bold color combinations, sometimes all in one dress.
