Well, mostly everything found it’s way into a box, the boxes got loaded on the truck and hauled into the new shop. Of course, with every move there always seems to be that dreaded last 10% of stuff that gets left behind. It’s just as good as the things that were carefully wrapped in tissue and gently layered in neat rows, except that these unlucky clip-on earrings and prom dresses haven’t made it that far. I’ll have to make sure it gets packed and carried after the fact.
I’m loving the vibe in Micanopy so far. There’s a lot of strolling, chatting, picture taking and coffee drinking going on outside my windows.
Now I’m unpacking and (the fun part) figuring out displays in my new larger space. The shop is not ready for a sneak peek yet, but here are a few images of the sweet little block and of my storefront.
Here is the street sign on the corner…
And here is the sidewalk leading up to my new digs. I’m sandwiched between two house ware/gift stores, each with a distinctive aesthetic. At the end, with the pink sign, is a stellar antique shop that specializes in cameos.
And..tah-dah… the shop front! That historically accurate blue just happens to match my logo perfectly. I’m figuring out how to make a window display that takes advantage of those high windows. I’d also like some type of retro planters out front. Any thoughts?
I am a vintage clothing shop owner living and working in rural north Florida. I believe in adding a little vinegar and molasses to my greens, having my coffee outside whenever possible, and mixing something vintage into every room and every outfit.
